Jacaranda Books and Tesco Continue Collaboration for The Second Year

Independent Black-owned publishing house Jacaranda Books is proud to announce the continuation of their landmark Black History Month collaboration with leading retailer Tesco. Launching from October 2025, this year’s activation will see an even more extensive list of Jacaranda titles featured across 55 UK stores..

Bolstered by the success of the landmark 2024 partnership between both businesses, this year sees the campaign, which falls under Tesco’s Black Action Plan, run for an extended six weeks. The Black Action Plan, launched in 2022, aspires to achieve fair and equitable representation across key areas of the business, including Black-led supplier partners.

The 12 titles selected celebrate the richness and diversity of Black narratives, highlighting stories, voices, and experiences from across the Black community. The list features customer favourites from last year’s campaign, including Stick to my Roots by British reggae legend Tippa Irie, Becoming Muhammad Ali by Kwame Alexander and James Patterson, and If I Don’t Have You by acclaimed author and editor Sareeta Domingo, whose recent passing on 12th September 2025 has been deeply felt amongst the literary community.

New titles on the list include DD Armstrong’s Ugly Dogs Don’t Cry, Anni Domingo’s Breaking the Maafa Chain and Lisa Bent’s Symona’s Still Single.

  • A Quick Ting On: The Black Girl Afro by Zainab Kwaw-Swanzy

  • A Quick Ting On: Plantain by Rui da Silva

This continued collaboration will come with several key moments, including a Jacaranda Books led digital campaign to also announce their permanent launch on Tesco Marketplace where customers will be able to shop the publisher’s entire list alongside everyday groceries.

The publisher will also take part in a special Black History Month event at Tesco Headquarters, events, and exclusive discounts on Jacaranda titles for all Tesco colleagues in the lead-up to the gifting season.
