About Books, Bickle and Brews

Following the inclusion of Jacaranda Book CEO on the cover of the August 2023 issue of Pitch Black Online, both organisations discovered a mutual desire to curate a special space for books to be discovered and book lovers to freely express themselves in conversation with authors, leading to the formation of this book club.

With joint ties to the Caribbean and a universal British love of ‘a brew’, the name came easily, and allowed for both parties to discover the perfect added touch of ‘a bickle and a brew’ at every session, for book clubbers to enjoy alongside the book of the month.

Kicking off Books, Bickle and Brews Bookclub is the debut novel ISLAND SONG from former WHAM! singer Pepsi Demacque-Crockett!

In conversation with Colin and Judy Tomlin, Pepsi will explore her novel set between the Caribbean to 1950s London which asks the question: is one sister’s dream the other’s sacrifice?
